Give him a break, he's just doing his job. If you didn't want him to clean that particular area, you should've just told him so. It's unacceptable of you to be posting up his pic without his permission. Bitch please.....
Catalina, I've always liked your blog, but your elitist, condescending posts have definitely made me think otherwise of frequenting your site. Please remain respectable because beauty is nothing without character. LA definitely has its rep for a reason. I would know bc I lived there all my life which is why I moved to the east coast just recently. It's a sunny place for shady people. Don't be a statistic.
Taking a picture of this poor man and blogging about it was a bitch move on your part. No need for this elitist attitude. It's unnecessary.

i dont understand why everyone thinks this is disrespectful?? I would imagine cleaning is part of housekeepings job description. Is that not why they are employed?
Not only was this a morally deplorable post, it makes absolutely no sense. You are a member of the personal service industry, as is he. You put makeup on people's faces for a living - you yourself are not of high social standing, either. This is not to say that it would be morally acceptable for a lawyer, surgeon, or investment banker to act with an elitist attitude, but it might make a little more sense. How would you feel if one of these people were sitting in your makeup chair and treating you with such disrespect? Certainly it would be easy for such people to do so, because cosmetology is not exactly an esteemed profession in society. But no one should treat you that way, because you deserve respect as a human being, regardless of your profession or social standing, as does this man. I really think you should be ashamed of this post and the attitude behind it, and therefore grow from it.

Completely agree Christy! I guess Catalina doesnt care to explain or even apologize for making a bad decision.... I'm pretty much over this blog anyway, it has seemed to move in the direction of eating and then starving - its boring.
The mirror was dirty.
I called housekeeping for Windex.
The Roosevelt doesn't give Windex to hotel guests cause they think we're gonna snort it.
So they sent someone up.
The mirror was cleaned and now acceptable to have my client look into.
Who's to say the man is not happier than you or I. Maybe you have a problem with him cleaning. Simply doing his job.
No shame in his job, but it was kinda rude to take his picture as if he was NOT doing his job by posting "Unacceptable" as your caption. Just being real, it sounded nasty. Your issue was obviously with the Hotel not him, so I get it, but that's why the post seem to rub people the wrong way. Still love your blog.

Your stream of "consciousness" makes no sense whatsoever. You titled your post "Unacceptable" with a picture of a man cleaning the mirror. And what does happiness have anything to do with this or any of the comments posted? No, you made it clear that YOU have a problem with him cleaning, aka doing his job. All you have to do is take responsibility and own up to what was said/posted. You obviously feel no remorse, and your method of putting the guilt on the reader is immature/tactless on your part. I actually used to like your blog Catalina, but you've made it quite clear that there's not much more to you than a scale. Do you like staying in dirty hotels ladies? I have a feeling this has nothing to do with the cleaner himself, but more with the standard expected when staying at an expensive hotel. Let alone Lina trying to work in the hotel too, where mirrors are kind of essential.
Totally agree with you, Christy! I used to like this blog b/c of the makeup and fashion posts, but from now on I will be steering clear of it. As an avid runner & healthcare professional, just so you know the frequent use of laxatives & diuretics will be doing more harm than good for your body in the long run.
So one dirty mirror equates a dirty hotel? What you're trying to infer doesn't line up with what is being presented. And it's also not the fact that Lina posted this, it's the fact that she remains indifferent and unremorseful of what was said. And since she's so supportive of "honesty" and "realness", she should have no problem hearing honest feedback.
Just face it, Catalina, you were probably pissed off at the housekeeper for unintentionally misting Windex all over your precious makeup while he was cleaning the vanity mirror that's not part of the hotel. Why else would you write, "Housekeeping please....." which usually is synonymous with, bitch please, expressing incredulous disgust. Your explanation makes absolutely no sense, but nice try trying to sugar-coat your original statement.
Apparently, Catalina loves to belittle and demean people with her holier-than-thou attitude towards people she considers beneath her. Here's a past comment she made about Starbucks baristas:

Very classy, indeed.
Wow some of the comments that were left were a bit heated, but I'm more sad than anything. I used to like this blog, but now I have a moral obligation to not read it due to the character behind it. After all, you can judge a woman's character by the way she treats her "inferiors."-at least who she considers to be her inferiors.
That comment Lina made is totally disgusting...
People that put themselves above others will fall longer and harder. I mean you can swallow your pride occasionally, it's non-fattening!
I never imagined so many assumptions could be made by one photo and three words. i mean really. I would have to say that most of these comments (in paragraph form) have been a lot more harsh than anything else! Take it for what it's worth, and remember that not everyone has the same viewpoint. what you conclude from that picture and two word caption might not be what it is about.
i absolutely love this blog!! Why would anyone take the time to visit if they didn't? just sayinnnn
